My name is Stefano Demetrio Melograna and I'm a luthier. I specialized in plucked instruments and my work is particularly focused on guitars and mandolins.

I graduated from Milan Luthiery School in 2018 under the guidance of Masters Fabio Bonardi and Lorenzo Lippi. Since then I started a regular collaboration with Master Fabio Bonardi in his atelier in Brescia. There I had the opportunity to put myself in the building of classical and acoustic guitars, develop my skills in repairing and setup of guitars, and master the foundamentals of restoring ancient musical instruments, particularly the one of mandolins of authors such as Vinaccia, Embergher, Calace.

Now in my workshop I build acoustic and archtop guitars, I restore and repair ancient of old instruments and I setup plucked instruments.

I try to integrate the artisanal tradition of italian luthiery with the new challenges and opportunities that new technologies are bringing to our world, with a sinergic approach made of continuous study, in order to be able to offer services suitable for every need.

Since 2023 my workshop is in Milan, in the Dergano district, inside of LiutaiLab, a place for sharing spaces, means and knowledge.

Here work five young luthiers with a similar background but with different specializations, with the common goal of making this space a landmark where every musician could find what he needs and where the artisans' developement, both in a personal and a professional way, is pursued with continuous confrontation. Some of the initiatives that are promoted by LiutaiLab in this spirit are workshops for luthiers, concerts and public openings to tell about our work.
